Why I became a Bowen Therapist
An Unusual Introduction
In 2000, Rusty, my horse, was suffering from back and leg problems which
affected his movement. I noticed an advert for Bowen at the stables where I kept him.
A friend enthusiastically recommended trying it, so I introduced Rusty to
Sheila Bryant, a Gloucestershire-based therapist.
Three treatments over the course of a month freed him from the muscular
aches and pains that had been slowing him down.
With Sheila's help, my quiet and semi-retired horse was back to his own self -
a fiery prancing Arab.
My Own Experience
This made me want to try Bowen for myself.
I made an appointment with
Howard Bult in Bristol.
At the time I had an uncomfortable clicking jawbone, caused by a dislocation of the joint
many years before. I had used physiotherapy and special dental treatment
to help manage the problem. I was interested to see if Bowen therapy could provide
a lasting benefit.
The main impact of my first treatment with Howard arrived 24 hours later.
My jaw would not click anymore, either intentionally or accidentally.
This change has lasted ever since.
My experiences with this subtle and gentle style of treatment inspired me to change
my career and train as a Bowen Therapist.
